Knitted in bee stitch and stocking stitch. These arm warmers are approximately 35cm long (13 3/4 inches long).
You will need:
1 ball of brown double knit yarn.
1 ball of yellow double knit yarn.
Knitting needles size 4.5mm (UK 7. US 7).
Method:
Cast on 31 stitches with brown yarn and knit 8 rows of bee stitch.
Row 1 – Knit.
Row 2 – K1, *K1b (knit into the stitch below), K1*. Repeat * to the end of the row.
Row 3 – Knit.
Row 4 – K2, K1b, *K1, K1b*. Repeat * to the last 2 stitches, K2.
Repeat rows 1–4.
Change to yellow yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to brown yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to yellow yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to brown yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to yellow yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to brown yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to yellow yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to brown yarn.
Knit 8 rows of stocking stitch beginning with a purl row.
Change to yellow yarn.
Purl 1 row.
Knit 1 row.
Finish with 8 rows of bee stitch.
Bind off.
With right sides together fold the arm warmer over and use yarn to stitch the side seam leaving a gap for the thumb. Do this by sewing 26cm (10 inches) from the bottom of the warmer and up the side. Leave a gap. Then sew 3cm (1 1/4 inches) from the top down.
Turn right sides out.
Make two of these.
