Knit these cute and cosy Fairy Cake wrist warmers.
You will need:
Brown yarn — baby Aran yarn.
Pink yarn — double knit.
White yarn — double knit.
Red yarn — double knit. (Make 2 little red pom poms using the red yarn).
Beads to decorate.
Knitting needles size 4.5mm (UK 7. US 7).
Method:
Cast on 32 stitches using the brown yarn.
Knit 2 inches (5cm) rib (knit 2, purl 2).
Change to pink yarn. (Remember to change the yarn on the same side of the knitting each time you start a new colour).
Knit 1.5 inches (4cm) garter stitch (knit stitches, no purl).
Change to white yarn.
Knit 2 inches (5cm) garter stitch.
Bind off.
With right sides together fold the wrist warmer over and use yarn to stitch the side seam leaving a gap for the thumb. Do this by sewing 4 inches (10cm) from the bottom of the rib cuff up the side of the warmer. Leave a gap. Then sew 1 1/4 inches (3cm) from the top down.
Turn the wrist warmer right sides out.
Make two of these.
Sew the pom poms on to the top of the wrist warmers.
Sew beads (like sprinkles) on to the white yarn to decorate.
