This little Christmas Pudding decoration measures approximately 8cm x 6cm (3 inches x 2.5 inches).
You will need:
Brown double knit yarn.
White double knit yarn.
Red yarn.
Green yarn.
Beads to decorate.
Lightweight filler for stuffing.
Knitting needles size 4.5mm (UK 7. US 7).
Knitters needles (tiny needles) to knit the berry & leaves.
Method:
Cast on 20 stitches using the brown yarn and knitting needles 4mm (UK 8. US 6).
Knit 12 rows garter stitch.
Change to white yarn.
Knit 9 rows garter stitch.
Bind off, pulling stitches tight to gather the top of the bauble.
With right sides together, sew the side seam. Leave a gap on the bottom for stuffing.
Turn right sides out.
Stuff the bauble with the filler.
Sew the gap shut.
Make the berry:
Use knitters needles (tiny needles) and cast on 6 stitches with red yarn.
Knit 4 rows.
Bind off leaving a long tail for sewing the berry and to make the top loop.
Sew the little piece of sparkly red yarn together to form a berry shape.
Sew it on to the top of the pudding.
Make a loop with the red yarn for hanging the bauble.
Make the leaves:
Use knitters needles and cast on 2 stitches with green yarn.
Knit 1 row.
K1, M1 (make 1 stitch), K1. (You should now have 3 stitches).
K1, M1, K1, M1, K1 (5).
Knit 1 row.
K1, M1, K3, M1, K1 (7).
Knit 1 row.
K2, M1, K3, M1, K2 (9).
Knit 1 row.
K1, K2tog, K3, K2tog, K1 (7).
K1, K2tog, K1, K2tog, K1 (5).
Knit 1 row.
K1, K2tog, K1, K1 (4).
Knit 1 row.
K1, K2tog, K1 (3).
K2tog, K1 (2).
K2tog (1).
Bind off.
Make two of these.
Sew the leaves on to the pudding.
Add beads to decorate.
