Repeat rows 1–6 until the work measures 18cm (7 inches).
Shape the top of the tea cosy:
K2tog across the row until the last stitch, K1. (19 stitches).
Knit 1 row.
K1, K2tog, repeat across the row until the last stitch, K1. (13 stitches).
Bind off.
Knit two of these.

Sew the tea cosy:

With right sides together use yarn and a knitters needle or embroidery needle to sew the sides seams. Start at the top and sew down 3 inches (7.5cm). Leave a gap. Sew up 1 inch (2.5cm) from the bottom of the seam. This leaves a gap in the middle of the side seams for the teapot spout and handle. Sew both side seams the same.
Sew the top of the tea cosy together.
Turn the tea cosy right sides out.
Make a matching pom pom and sew it on to the top of the tea cosy.
