Snowdrop Gauntlets

Knitted in snowdrop stitch, these gauntlet arm warmers are decorated with little snowdrops.

Each gauntlet measures approximately: 9cm x 28cm (3.5 inches x 11 inches).

You will need:

1 ball of white double knit yarn.
Green yarn to make the snowdrops (optional). Snowdrop pattern incl here.
Knitting needles size 4.5 (UK 7. US 7).
Knitting needles size 4mm (UK 8. US 6) (for the snowdrops).

Method:

Cast on 45 stitches.
Row 1 – K1, *yo (yarn over), sl 1 (slip one stitch purlwise), K2tog, psso (pass slip stitch over), yo, K5. Repeat this from * to the last 4 stitches on the row, then yo, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yo, K1.
Row 2 – Purl.
Row 3 – Repeat row 1.
Row 4 – Repeat row 2.
Row 5 – K4, *yo, sl 1, K1, psso, K1, K2tog, yo, K3. Repeat this from * to the last stitch, K1.
Row 6 – Purl.
Row 7 – K1, *yo, sl 1, K2tog, psso, yo, K1.
Row 8 – Purl.
Repeat rows 1–8 until the work measures 18cm (7 inches).
Bind off.

With right sides together fold the rectangle in two lengthways.
Use yarn to stitch the side seam leaving a gap for the thumb. Do this by sewing 19cm (7.5 inches) from the bottom of the warmer and up the side of the warmer. Leave a gap. Then sew 3cm (1 1/4 inches) from the top down.
Turn right sides out.

Make two of these.

Make two snowdrops and sew these on using yarn.
