This pattern can be adapted to make an easy to knit tippet or sewn into a soft drape cowl.
The sparkly yarn is soft and light to wear.
I’ve also made Sparkly Red Wrist Warmers to go with this.
One 50g ball of the red tinsel effect yarn is enough to make the tippet/cowl and wrist warmers.
To make the tippet or cowl:
You will need:
1 50g ball of red chunky tinsel yarn.
61 cm (24 inches) red ribbon (for the tippet).
Knitting needles size 10mm (UK 000. US 15).
Method:
Cast on 20 stitches.
Knit in garter stitch (knit stitches, no purl) until the work measures approx 51cm (20 inches). Finished measurement: 51cm x 21cm (20 inches x 8 1/4 inches).
Bind off.
Make the ties for the tippet:
Thread red ribbon through both edges of the tippet to tie the front together.
Make a Cosy Cowl:
As a variation, you could sew the edges together with the red yarn and wear it as a cosy cowl.
