Knitted in rich burgundy and wine tones.
You will need:
Burgundy double knit yarn.
Wine double knit yarn.
Lace weight yarn in warm reds, purples & pinks.
Knitting needles size 6mm (UK 4. US 10).
Method:
Cast on 38 stitches with burgundy yarn.
Row 1 – Purl.
Row 2 – K1, *K1, P1, K1 (into one stitch), P3tog*. Repeat until the last stitch, K1.
Row 3 – Purl.
Row 4 – K1, *P3tog, K1, P1, K1 (into one stitch)*. Repeat until the last stitch, K1.
Repeat these four rows until the work measures 13cm (5 inches).
Next row – K2, K2tog (4 times), knit to last 16 stitches, K2tog, K2 (4 times). You should have reduced the row to 30 stitches.
Knit 15cm (6 inches) garter stitch using the burgundy yarn.
Change to the wine yarn (on right side) and knit 23cm (9 inches) garter stitch.
Change to lace weight yarn (on RS) and knit 14cm (5.5 inches) garter stitch.
Bind off.
Sew the ends together using burgundy yarn.
